Obituary of Lawrence Andrew Adshade

The family is saddened to announce the passing of Lawrence Andrew "Andy" Adshade on January 26, 2022, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on March 5, 1953, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Valerie (Nee O’Neill) and the late John Adshade. Andy will be missed by his siblings Danny (Karen), Cathy, John (Joanne), Sandy, and Nancy (Alan) as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces , great nephews, and many friends. Andy will be remembered as a lifelong sportsman with a deep passion for soccer. He was a member of the Old Boys Soccer Club in Fredericton, volunteered as an officiant with Special Olympics Canada and the Canada Games, and coached many New Brunswick youths in their own soccer clubs. He was a recipient of the Unsung Hero Award for his generous contributions to his community. When he wasn’t tearing up the turf, he was an avid gardener constantly researching the best ways to care for his prized plants. Andy was a supportive Uncle and Great Uncle, cheering on all of his nieces and nephews in whatever they endeavoured to do. There will be no visitation or service. The family will hold a private gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Soccer NB or the Special Olympics would be appreciated by the family.
