Obituary of George Everette Richardson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Everett Richardson on April 5, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on March 16, 1954, in St. Stephen, NB, he was the son of the late H. Maxwell (Max) and Kathleen (Pollard) Richardson.

Surviving are his wife, Judith “Judy” Richardson; daughter, Alice Richardson-Cain (Ryan); grandchildren, Emma and Cambrie; sister, Kathie Wells (Robert); several nieces and nephews, including Mallory and Nathan Kelly.

A graduate of the University of New Brunswick, George was a devoted longstanding employee of 34 years with the Government of New Brunswick (Director of Fiscal Policy, Department of Finance) until his retirement in 2016.

George loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren, as well as reading, biking, and long walks on the beach.  He was an avid crib player and loved watching sports.

The family of George would like to say thank you to the doctors, nurses, and therapists (including Speech, Occupational, and Physio) of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and Extra-Murals, including his caregivers Afolabi and Alex, for all the care they provided over the last several years.

Keeping with George’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  There will be a Celebration of George’s life on Saturday, May 11th at St. James’ Gate – West Hills, from 2-4 pm, to share in stories and memories.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.  Arrangements are entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home.  To leave a message of condolence please visit www.mcadamsfh.com.
