Obituary of Brenda Elizabeth Murphy

It is with sadness that the family of Brenda Murphy, Fredericton, announces her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at the age of 72. Born in Glace Bay, NS, on July 7, 1948, she was the wife of the late Donald "Donnie" Murphy. Brenda leaves behind her children, Kent Murphy (Heather) of Fredericton, NB, and Tanya Read (John) of Glace Bay, NS; grandchildren, Madisen, Blake, and Mallory Murphy, and Evan, Matthew, and Bennie Read; siblings, Sheila Sweet (Walter), Rita McNeil (Roy), Archina Campbell (JB), Angela MacDonald, Bernadette Bresolin (Louie), Joe MacDonald (Ann Marie), Kimberly Knockwood (Darren), Noelle MacDonald, Mary Louise Hillgrove, and Jacqueline Young (David); as well as a large extended family. In addition to her husband, Donnie, Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Rita (Cote) and Archie "Blue" MacDonald; brothers, Brian, David, James, and Robert MacDonald. Brenda will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Though she lived in, and travelled to, many different places with her husband Donnie Fredericton always held a special place in her heart. The family would also like to extend gratitude and thanks to the wonderful Nurses and Doctors on the 3rd Floor of Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for Brenda's care. There will be no visitation. A private service for Brenda’s family will be held in Fredericton. Interment will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Oromocto, at a later time. For those who wish, donations in Brenda’s memory can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
