Obituary of Sasanka Sekhar Basu

It is with sadness that the family of Sasanka Basu announces his death at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, August 8, 2022. Born in Howrah, India, he was the husband of Rita (Mitra) Basu of Fredericton. In addition to his wife, Rita, Sasanka leaves behind his sons, Sujoy and Sumit Basu; brothers, Shusanta (Anju) and Ovilas (Shelly) Basu; sister, Lucy Dutta (Somir); as well as 9 nieces and nephews. Sasanka was predeceased by his parents, Panchanan and Binapani (Sarkar) Basu; brother, Prasanta; sisters, Bella and Nelima. Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
