Obituary of William Lawson Patton Caldwell

The family of William Lawson Patton Caldwell announce his passing on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his home in Beaver Dam, New Brunswick. Born on September 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Pryor and Mabel (Patton) Caldwell and loving husband to the late Edna (Shaw) Caldwell. Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, William (Bill, to his friends and family) graduated from Acadia University in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to own and operate the Foodmaster grocery store in Campbellton for many years. Retiring in 1988, he and Edna moved to Beaver Dam, where they enjoyed their last years together. Throughout his life, William was an accomplished musician, and played the organ at Christ Church Anglican, in Campbellton and at the Holy Trinity Church in Nasonworth. He was also a member of the Campbellton Fire Brigade, serving as secretary and later Deputy Fire Chief. William will be missed by his children, David of Campbellton, Margaret Clevett (Lew) of Campbellton, Graham (Jane) of Dalhousie Junction; John (Louise) of Ottawa, and Joan of Beaver Dam as well as 6 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. Final arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Campbellton, New Brunswick. Donations in William’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family
