Obituary of Thomas Wynn Drost

Rev. Thomas Wynn Drost was promoted to his eternal reward on September 4, 2020 in Mexico City. He was born on March 7, 1950 in Cali, Colombia to missionary parents William and Ruth Drost. He was predeceased by his parents Bill (March 5, 1979) and Ruth (May 17, 2019), as well as his beautiful wife Wanda (Mean) Drost on January 15, 2001. Wynn was a loving and devoted husband to Wanda who he married on August 22, 1970. He was a proud father to three sons, Steven Wynn (Danita), Daniel Wayne (Holley) and Mark John (Evie). He was Opa to Rachel, Sarah (Thomas) Garcia, Caleb, Leah, Katelin (Salvador) Avila, Daniel, Aleyna, David and Wanda. He is also survived by three brothers, Gerald, Wayne and Verner. Rev. T.W. Drost received his calling to continue missionary work at a very young age. After returning to Canada to marry his sweetheart, Wanda, they returned to Madrid, Spain to begin their ministry together. Both Steven and Daniel were born during this tenure in Madrid. The Drost family returned to Canada in 1974 seeking their appointment as missionaries of the United Pentecostal Church International. Mark was born during that brief stay in Canada. They were appointed to El Salvador, founding the work there in 1974 and there began a great revival that would affect much of Latin America. After several years in El Salvador, God called them to move to the bordering country of Guatemala. They lived for 10 years in Guatemala, founding the work there as well as in Nicaragua. During that time, Rev. T.W. Drost also assumed the leadership of the southern part of Mexico. In January of 1991, the Drost family made their final move to Mexico City to raise up a work there. This became the burden and passion for the whole family and where Rev. T.W. Drost remained until the Lord decided it was time to call His servant home. His sons carry on his burden and passion for the lost. Steven as an appointed missionary (UPCI) to Mexico, Daniel pastoring a bilingual church (UPCI) in Dallas, Texas and Mark as an international evangelist (UPCI). Rev. T.W. Drost lived and breathed revival. Only eternity will tell of all the souls that were reached through his ministry. Our loss is heaven's gain, and we know he is rejoicing at the feet of the One he loved the most with his sweet Wanda by his side. The memorial service honoring the life of Missionary T.W. Drost will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11am at Capital Community Church, 71 Downing Street, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Interment will follow immediately after the service for family only. Donations can be made at gofundme.com. Search T Wynn Drost Memorial and click on the link and follow the instructions.
