Dear Daphne,
I'm so sorry to hear about of the death of your Mother. Her obituary was a lovely tribute and I can only add that your Mom was exceedingly welcoming whenever I visited. I remember her endless patience with our teenage shenanigans as we cranked up Charles' stereo to full volume, helped ourselves to snacks and talked late into the night. My condolences Daphne.
Fondly,
Martha (Hoyt)

Daphne, Charles and Anne — On behalf of the MacKay family (and your Mom’s co-lethal bridge partner, Barbara MacKay), our deepest sympathies and nostalgic thoughts are with you as you bid farewell to your Mom. One of my fondest memories of your mom is at the cottage in 60s/70s, overseeing our board games (often played with your grandmother), and of course, spending late nights at the MacKay cottage playing bridge with my mother, the Camps, Atkins and assorted Pointers. Perhaps my mother’s new bridge club in heaven is now complete with the arrival of Margie. I’ve been scanning my father’s old Kodak slides in the 1960s and discovered this gem of a photo of a bridge game in full swing at the MacKay cottage in 1963. Let’s always remember our parents this way – young, laughing, staying up late, playing bridge, enjoying some gin, and of course learning from the life masters how a bridge game is won. Daphne and Mike, you will recognize your folks. Also in the photo are Kemp, AR, and Joan and Barbara Belyea!
Margie joins them now…and her bridge legacy endures.

Daphne:
My condolences on the loss of your mother. Due to both the pandemic and my retirement I lost contact with many people I used to enjoy seeing and your mother was certainly one of those people. It was quite a shock to see her obituary today. I hope our paths will cross sometime soon, giving me a chance to coney my condolences personally.
