Obituary of Gloria Joan Carter (nee Webber)

Born on a farm without electricity or running water in the beautiful Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario; graduated from a one-room country school and several universities; earned accolades as a journalist and communications professional; died in Fredericton, NB on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the age of 75.

Proud mom of Jeffrey Jon Carter and mom-in-law of Lori Leach of Harvey Station, NB; Nana to Caedmon Heron of Kinburn, ON. Survived by sister Madeline Van De Walker of ON; predeceased by sisters Bernice (White) and Faye (Graham) of ON.

Blessed with amazing friends, Joan liked most people, books, single malt scotch, sunny days and the sound of the wind.

There will be no visitation or service at Joan's request. For those who wish, donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Beaverbrook Art Gallery.
