Obituary of Harold James Campbell

It is with great sadness that the family of Harold James Campbell announce that he has passed away on January 7th, 2023, at the age of 83.

Harold was born in Hardwood Ridge to parents Garnett and Jean Campbell on October 21, 1939. He married his loving wife Carol on September 14, 1963, and raised two wonderful children Kimberly and James, for which he was so proud.  He was known for his musical talents, spending his spare time playing guitar, piano and fiddle. After working for NB coal for 35 years, he retired in 1997 allowing more time to devote to spending with his family including his 4 grandchildren who absolutely adored him. Harold was known for his sense of humor; he always had a story to tell.

Harold was predeceased by his parents Garnett and Jean Campbell, his brother Hanson (Elinor) Campbell, brother Murray (Myrna) Campbell and his grand-daughter Jillian Knox.

Harold is survived by his wife, Carol (Barton) Campbell, his son, James (Lisa) Campbell, his daughter, Kimberly (Greg) Knox; his brother, Raymond (Carolyn) Campbell, his sister, Elizabeth (Johnny) McKiel; his granddaughter, Katie (Stephen) MacMillan, grandsons, Adam Campbell and Dillon Campbell; his great-granddaughter, Piper MacMillan, many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters in-law and friends.

There will be no visitation at the family’s request. The Funeral service will be held at Minto Baptist Church on Friday, January 13th, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Rob Moody officiating.

The family would like to extend our sincerest thank you to the many doctors and nurses who cared for Harold over the last few years and helped to make him comfortable in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes you to make a donation to Hospice Fredericton (https://hospicefredericton.ca/donate) in honor of Harold.
