Dear Jane, Jeff, Heather, Sarah and Megan, Heard the news from Graham that Harold was gone. Felt an immediate and deep sadness. And a powerful appreciation for, and gratitude to the man who'd saved my life. Harold was a mensch, a force of nature. Jeff's talk reminded me of how full of life he was; Jane's, of the depth of his compassionate, caring love. You have my sympathies for your loss and my enduring affection for you all. JT

That was a lovely Celebration of Life. Harold was a dedicated physician and sacrificed for his profession and his patients. The stories today were a wonderful reflection on Harold, the man. I hope the entire family strives to keep the punchlines coming. That would make Harold smile.

To the Touchie Family, Our sincerest condolences to you all at this very sad time. Ormille recounts a time, in 3rd year that your Dad said he was going to fail pediatrics, so Wanda said "go down to the Frat & cool off". So Touchee came down & we were all drunk, Needless to say we all passed! We have many laughable memories of your Dad. Good stuff Hal, rest in peace. Sincerely & with love . Ormille & Mary Hayne.

My mother, Doris Touchie Atkinson, was Harold’s cousin and shared many stories of his early family life. Jeff, my daughter Kim Hutchinson, also sends her sympathy, remembering you from Mount Allison. I was saddened to learn of Harold’s death. Of all my colleagues in the Fredericton medical community I had known him the longest, first meeting him in 1969 when I was a 4th year student on his service at the Vancouver General Hospital. He was very warm and welcoming, and was a born teacher. He also encouraged the students to partake in social activities such as happy hour, where I first met Wanda. We renewed our relationship when Harold opened his Orthopaedic practice here. In addition to his clinical expertise he became involved as a leader in the re-organization of the New Brunswick Medical Society and encouraged me and others to become involved in medical politics. The strength and stature of the NBMS today is largely due to Harold’s organizational skills. Harold had a delightful personality, was very proud of his family and supportive of his colleagues and patients. He will be missed by all of us. Peter Fraser

I am sorry for the loss of your Dad and Granddad...another Scotchtown neighbor gone but won't be forgotten. Memories of picking wild raspberries with Wanda so Harold could share them with his patients and friends. Of course, the rocking chair on the veranda, was his favorite spot to watch all the kids swimming and enjoying each other. memories to cherish and traditions to continue. Dear family, We were friends with your parents since 1963. We have so many wonderful memories of all these past years.Your father was one of a kind who always kept close contact with his friends. I’m so sorry to hear of Dr Touchie’s passing. He was mom’s doctor for many years She too was a little spitfire and loved a good laugh. From bringing her home made jam from your moms kitchen to help celebrating her birthdays on 4NE to attending the open house at her apt. He made a quick visit to our home the day mom passed. My mom was Thelma McCluskey.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your very special Dad. Harold was my Mom’s (Byrdie Walls) very special cousin whom she loved dearly. He truly was a blessing in our lives. It was an honor to have known such a great person and we will truly hold his fun loving personality, and friendship in our hearts forever. We are currently visiting our daughter and her husband in Bermuda and regretfully will be unable to attend the funeral. Harold was a man of immense pride in family, of their accomplishments and their personalities. He and Wanda were at every sporting event cheering the kids on, keeping the mood light. They were also fiercely protective of their children, the perfect combination.
