Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Although it was your Dad who was my Godfather it always felt like your mom was also my Godmother. She just sent me flowers for my birthday in September and took me for supper to celebrate it when I was home in August. She was one of the kindest women I have ever known; always showing compassion for others and staying positive despite her health challenges. She was also a wonderful friend to my mom. Now she is with your Dad and mine watching over our families.

Your mom. She was truly that one in a million. An earth angel. So kind and thoughtful in everything she did. Never once did she miss my birthday. Her beautiful card, followed by a phone call to the West Coast always made my day extra special. And a visit with your mom was always at the top of my list whenever I was "home." Know that the tradition will continue with you boys, so we can share stories of days gone by and toast your special mom - who was like a second mom to me. I'm finding it hard to believe that she's left this earth. She's now dancing and laughing amongst the stars - and I'll be watching for her up there, lighting up the night sky. Love you sweet Connie. And know that while I'm far away, I'm holding you all close in my thoughts and my heart. xox

Dear Richard, Jamie and families, Please accept our condolences along with the condolences of the whole UNB family on the death of your mother. Your mother, Connie and Father, Gordon were stalwart residents of our community and of our UNB family. We will miss your mother as we have missed your dad. We were pleased to learn from Jamie that your mother died with grace and dignity at the Fredericton Hospice. What comfort it must have been for her to be surrounded by her family and the caring staff of Hospice. May you gain solace in the coming days and weeks from the happy memories you have times spent with your mother and your family. Oh we were so sorry to learn of Connie's failing health and passing. We met her years ago in law school and when we decided to get married, still as young students, she was supportive, kind , and even gave us a gift of glass lovebirds which we still have. Connie was a gift., with her big smile and loving heart. The world is just a bit dimmer without her being here. Tom and I are so sorry. Condolences to the family.

I can't begin to imagine what a tremendous void Connies' passing will have on you all . She was a beautiful , strong and talented lady who fought a good fight with poor health until the end . , ..Connie , even when unwell , stayed in close touch with all of her friends , family , near and far and managed that with grace . She was a kind employer who took an interest in all of our lives and I , for one , will no doubt , find myself automatically getting ready , on Tuesdays and Thursdays , to head out for Westpoint Apts. . She was quite a lady and left this world as she did everything ,... with such grace . You can finally sleep peacefully Connie . xo Bev.

To all the Petrie Family: Connie has been such a big part of our family's life these past eight years. She loved all of you so very much and always kept me up to date on what was going on in all your families. So proud of her grandchildren and all their accomplishments. Many fond memories of taking her to the cottage, on drives and a couple of special trips to Maine and PEI. She reminisced about her and Gordon's travels and about you boys growing up. This past year we have kept in touch and she was very supportive during my health challenges. She loved me to bring my grandson Peter to visit and always made him feel special. Connie and Wendy came to my house in July for lunch and I am so happy that visit came about. We will miss her very much.

Clark & Bonnie Kilburn posted a condolence
Many years ago, when Fredericton was a different city, a much smaller place where everyone seemed to know each other, there were two fairly large homes one block away from each other that housed twelve kids. These were the homes of John and Robin Kilburn and Connie was one of the pioneers of the neighbourhood. Over the decades since those times, Connie continued to be instrumental in many aspects of life in Fredericton and up until recently she remained that family member whose opinion really mattered and who everyone tried to please. Connie was always a very influential piece of the Kilburn family circle while serving as a model to her whole family. Bonnie and I extend to all of Connie's personal family on behalf of the other side of the family our sincere condolences at this time of her passing. Connie will always be remembered and spoken of fondly.

Sending our sincere condolences at such a sad time. Connie was a wonderful, kind, generous and thoughtful person. She demonstrated her love for, and her pride in her family each and every day. We loved listening to her many stories of her family, friends, the places she had travelled, the parties she hosted, building her house on Eglington, the fun times at the lake and her grandchildren's many accomplishments. Most of all we treasure her friendship. Connie loved life and she will be dearly missed and never forgotten. A life well lived. Love, Diane & Chub MacKinnon

Richard and Jamie: I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. I have been remembering my first having met her and how well she adjusted to her law school studies after having been away from the academic life for a long period of time. She always reflected a love of life and a caring spirit for those around her. It has been some time since I last saw or spoke to either of you two. I trust that all is going well and that there will be an opportunity for our paths to cross in the near future. All the best, Brian

Richard and Jamie, So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mum. I will continue to hold her close to my heart and remember her as an incredible brave, articulate woman, full of life and passion for her family. She was a "tour de force" and most certainly set a strong example of what it means to be a resilient woman with the courage to always speak her truth. I'll never forget our walks at the lake, her sage advise and her love of all things stylish, feminine and lovely. Sending you both big hugs and lots of love.
