Obituary of Albert George Khoury
It is with great sadness that the family of Albert George Khoury announce that he passed away peacefully at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB, on Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was born in Niha, Lebanon, on July 25, 1938 and was the son of the late Salim and Houla “Helen” Khoury.
Albert will be missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Audrey and son Michael; brothers Charles (Maxine), Tom (Hoda) and Abraham, and sister Sabina, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Percy Khoury and Joseph Khoury; sisters Watfa El-Khoury, Sally Delmas, and Mary Khoury.
Albert came to Canada from Lebanon with his parents and siblings in 1951. He started working as a paperboy selling as many as 100 Daily Gleaners a day. A man of many hats, he went on to work at Acadia Marble Tile, later moving his family to Edmundston, N.B. to start a contracting flooring business, before moving back to Fredericton and going into real estate rentals, which he pursued until he passed, to name but a few of his occupations.
Albert loved his time at Tim’s with his friends, where he would share the numerous poems and prayers that he had written. He also loved to write songs. He always tried to be good to his tenants having some who stayed for up to 35 years. He loved to travel, but mostly enjoyed being at home with his family.
Special thanks must be given to Albert's family doctor, Dr. Anne Colpitts, his nephrologist, Dr. Paul Sohi, the Emergency Response Team, Ambulance N.B., his attending doctors; Dr. Sheldon Wood, Dr. Jeffery Marr, Dr. Justin Parker and Dr. Jeffery Moore, the entire nursing staff at 3 East and Palliative Care and countless others at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECH), who were exemplary in their professionalism, kindness and care for Albert during his stay there.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 5-7 pm.
