Obituary of Naka Danicic

It is with great sadness that the family of Naka Danicic of Fredericton, New Brunswick, announces her passing on April 29th, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Zadar, Croatia, on April 15th, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Petar and Boja (Oliveric) Rajcevic. She lived through the war conflict in former Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada in 2015. She lived with her daughter, Jovanka (Danicic) Opacic, and son-in-law, Momcilo Opacic. Naka loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Sava Danicic (1997); daughter Stanislava Danicic (2013); and her son Predrag Danicic (2015).

Mourning family members include her daughter Jovanka Opacic (Momcilo); granddaughters Nikolina (Robert) Chisholm and Marina (Adam) Opacic; great- grandchildren, Jacob, Brady, Aleah, and Sofija.

The family would like to thank Dr. Barry and the Extra-mural Program nurses (Darlene, Ashley, and Lindsey) for their compassion and excellent care of Naka in her last few days at home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. In keeping with Naka’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family will have a small celebration of life at a later date before she is laid to rest in Kraljevo, Serbia.
