Obituary of Ronald Huckla

The family of Ron Huckla is heartbroken to announce his passing on May 7, 2023, in Fredericton, NB, at the age of 62. Ron will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend Nancy (Campbell), his children Rebecca (Andre), Christian and Mackenzie (Lauren), and his grandchildren Clare, Julia, Boe, Denver, and Daisy.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Marjorie Huckla, was the baby brother of Lori Cullen (Bruce), Dave Huckla (Marianna) and Philip Huckla, and will be missed by his brother-in-law Randy Campbell (Virpi). Ron was a beloved uncle to Julie, Lynn and David Cullen, Dean and Christopher Huckla, Ryan and Shawn Huckla and their families and a kind, former father-in-law to Rob Ho.

Ron was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario, and lived there until 4 years ago when he moved to Fredericton with Nancy so that he could enjoy his retirement in the maritimes and be close to Mac and his family. Anyone who met Ron knew that he was a loyal Flyers fan and there wasn't much that made him happier than when they were winning AND he had picked them on the Proline. The only thing that could top it were his 5 grandchildren. Clare, Julia, and Daisy brought him so much joy and he loved being the wingman for Boe and the dinosaur book reader for Denver. Ron Ron Coathanger Ears Dinkleschplatt, aka Poppa, will be forever in their hearts.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held - on the most fitting of weekends- Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at McAdam's Funeral Home in Fredericton. At a future date a second celebration will be held in St. Catharines for his Ontario friends and family.

As per Ron's wishes the family will only be accepting flowers if they are black and orange (just kidding!). In fact, in lieu of flowers, Ron's family would like to thank the extraordinary staff from the Extramural Program and at Hospice House Fredericton for the loving care they provided to Ron through donations in his memory https://hospicefredericton.ca/donate/.
