Obituary of Dawn Elaine Harris

It is with sadness that the family of Dawn Elaine Harris announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the age of 85. Born in Fredericton, NB, on October 28, 1937, she was the wife of Paul Harris.

In addition to her husband, Paul, Dawn leaves behind her children, Matthew Harris (Loretta) and Pam Brewer (Eric); grandchildren, Adam, Amanda (Tristan), Andrew, Jacob, and Nickolas; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Logan; as well as a cousin, Danny Parker. Dawn was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Parker.

Dawn was raised in Barkers Point by her loving mother Evelyn, a single mother who worked hard providing for her only child. Evelyn, a proud hard-working woman instilled the qualities in Dawn that would help make her into the strong caring person she would become. Dawn excelled as a student from an early age graduating from High School at the top of her class. Dawn started a new chapter in her life when marrying Paul shortly after High School. The two quickly become as one welcoming a new daughter, Pamela and then later a son, Matthew into the world, and with the addition of her Mother Evelyn created a beautiful five-person family.

Throughout their lives Dawn and Paul worked side by side, they took on many challenges and never faltered in their commitment to one another or family. Dawn was a true matriarch, always there to assist family in a time of need. Dawn was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren (Adam, Amanda, Andrew) from her daughter Pamela, and was an important part of their lives, passing on the traditions of family that her mother had instilled in her. Later, Dawn was blessed again with two more grandchildren (Jacob and Nickolas) from their son Matthew and his wife Loretta and finally two great grandchildren (Evelyn and Logan) from their granddaughter Amanda and her husband Tristan. Dawn was a beautiful and loving person that was always there for her family and the love of her life Paul. Dawn shared her love with her husband Paul for 66 years and loved him with all her heart until her final breath. She worshiped her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the love she gave to all, freely and without condition will be missed each and every day.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 4E, of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, for the loving and compassionate care that was extended to Dawn during her time with them.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. A graveside service will be held in Sunny Bank Cemetery on Monday, May 29, at 1:00pm with Rev. Bob Jones officiating.
