To all Ephie's Family and friends, I only got to know Ephie these last few years as he called me to help on some of the things dealing with his book(s). OMG he was a character., and his stories were amazing. I could barely keep up with him and every time I turned around he had another book in the works and another signing to go to. His outlook on life was a wonderful thing, and I am a better person for having known him. Celebrate his time here.

To Ephrem Carrer (Ephie) Family and friends near and far, our sincere condolences on the loss of our friend too who we met in Innuvik personally in forty seven years ago. I had several telephone conversations with Ephie prior to our moving and was nor disappointed when we met. We could both talk the hind leg off a horse easily and not come up for a breather. Meeting Jane, my husband Frank commented "she was the most intelligent woman he had ever met." I guess I wasn't too bad to have around.
We have lost two dear friends but we certainly have a huge data base of memories to look back at.
To Jenni, chin up , shoulders back , you had a strong Mum and a caring father.
Sincerely,
Frank & Aloma Boyce.

Jennifer and family, your Dad was such a kind, pleasant, and interesting man. I spoke with him many times and he told me some stories about his life. I read his book "The Way it Was" twice and the second time it was just as interesting as the first. He will be missed by so many people, but he is no longer suffering. My sincere condolences to all the family.

Such a good and kind man. We met at UNB in 1979 when I was 20. We were taking a course on Canadian Federalism! We sat next to each other. He was such an interesting person. He convinced me to skip class one day so he could take me up in his plane. He asked me where I lived. I told him Bear Island just beyond the Mactaquac Dam. He flew over my house. Actually, he swooped down over my house … cut the engine … and then started it again quickly! It was loud enough that we could see my mother emerge from the house looking up at a single engine plane that had apparently dive-bombed her home. It was a day I have never forgotten. And Ephie is someone I will never forget. My most sincere condolences.

The man liked to talk!! Good thing that he started writing books. These kept him going and gave meaning to his life after losing his wife Jean.
He had a heart for the underdog so volunteering in third world countries or volunteering to help immigrants coming to Canada was right up his alley.
He didn’t seek a lot of material “stuff” for himself though he had the means to do so. This resonated with me.
He will be missed!
Love from Diane (daughter-in law)

Pop was not a mechanic! He would tell you that there was nothing to it.
Why would you have brakes on a car? Trouble and warning lights on the dash were to be ignored.
Chainsaws - stand back or be slashed!
He destroyed every car he owned! Why would you put oil in it or in the chainsaw?
The list is extensive!
But he was my Pop. I will miss him.

I worked as a volunteer at the Fredericton Community for several years alongside Ephie who was well into his eighties at that time. I was amazed by his energy, his stories of his past life experiences, and his ongoing concern and efforts for making the world a better place. What an amazing life! My sincere sympathy to his family and close friends.

Sincerest condolences to Ephie’s family. He was a wonderful person and while I hadn’t seen him in several years I would always think of him when I drove up the old highway along the river. My deepest sympathies.

I had the Pleasure of meeting Ephie, Jean, Jen and Derrick on a vacation several years ago. We have kept in touch since. He will always remain in my heart and continue to be an inspiration for me. I was so pleased to receive this newspaper article in the mail. (He also gifted me a copy of “The Way It Was”) - such a beautiful soul. Cheers Ephie!

Miriam and I are eternally thankful to Ephrem and Jean. They arranged a flight in Ephrem's plane for us back in 1979, which turned into a "date". Miriam and I are still married fast approaching a half a century later! This was just one of the amazing things that Ephrem orchestrated! He was a remarkable man who will be missed.

Uncle F was a very kind and helpful man. I was lucky enough to have him and Auntie Jean take me to Cuba for my 45tg birthday
