John Frederick (Fred) Thompson, went to his heavenly reward peacefully at home on the morning of Sunday, June 25th, 2023. He was a life-long resident of Fredericton and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a faithful friend to many and, above all, a dedicated Christian.
Fred was born on March 24, 1936, to the late Ernest and Minnie Thompson. He was married to the love of his life, Ruby (MacDonald) for 67 years. His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Brenda Grant (Ed) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, son, Brad Thompson (Regina) of Guatemala, and Ricky & Shelly Lyons of Quispamsis, NB. Fred took great pride and joy in his grandchildren… Jeremy Lyons (Sue), Erica Beach (John),Emily Thornton (Paul), Josh Lyons, Benji Grant (Janessa), Alex Grant (Cydney), Anthony Thompson (Tabatha), Ryan Thompson (Sarah), and Tyrell Thompson.
