I just now learned of Paul's passing. Paul and I worked together as civil engineers at Spruce Falls Power and Paper in the 1960's. We also spent a lot of time at Paul's cottage at Remi Lake, building a dock and enjoying the week ends. Life is truly too short. My sincere condolences to Paul's family. Ross Williams

My deep and heartfelt condolences to you, Lynne, and to your girls and to Paul’s family. Though I didn’t know Paul well, the few times we spoke at worship or at church gatherings, he was always very pleasant and engaging. I’m so sorry for your loss! May God bless you, Lynne, with comfort and peace at this time.

Very sad to learn of Paul's passing. Paul and I worked together as lawyers in the legal Services Branch, Office of the Attorney General for over 25 years. Paul was a respected and skilled barrister and solicitor . He provided sound legal advice to his client departments and provided competent and able legal representation as agent for the Crown in various Provincial administrative tribunals , boards and adjudications in addition to representing the Crown in the superior courts of the Province.
Paul was a friend and collogue and he will be missed. Always had time for a chat and a good laugh . His family was a big and important part of his life. He was very proud of his daughter's achievements.
As noted in his obit, he loved being on the water , but he had an appreciation for fine vintage automobiles.
Susan and I express our sincere sympathy to Lynne and his daughters Nicole and Claire on their loss

I had the pleasure of getting to know Paul during coffee gatherings at the Fredericton Inn. We both had connections to the 8th Hussars. I appreciated his wit and pleasant demeanour. My sincere condolences to the whole family.

I was saddened to learn that Paul had transitioned to the other side. I was a colleague of Paul for 5 years (1994-1999) at the Office of the Attorney General for the Province of New Brunswick. In fact, we had adjoining offices. I can echo the comments made by Claire's friend re Paul's wonderful personality. In fact, we affectionately called him "Brother Paul". I can also attest that an insightful legal mind went hand in hand with Paul's personality.
Although I am "a few months" younger than Paul (175!), I can glimpse the specter of the unavoidable conclusion of my earthly pilgrimage. However, this picture is now much less daunting, knowing that, once again, I will be able to embrace Dear Brother Paul and converse jovially with him.
My wife Anne-Marie joins me in extending sympathies to Lynne, Nicole and Claire.

I was acquainted with Paul and Lynne through church. Paul’s personality as previously described came through in the short interactions we would have. My condolences to Lynne and to the family.

I first met Paul when we were students together at Saint John High School in the fifties. And later we came to know each other better when I moved to a home just around the corner from Paul and Lynne in Fredericton. I, and my wife Jill Davies, will miss the many good conversations with Paul, usually when encountering each other on our walks around the neighbourhood. Memories of Paul's warmth, his wit, and his caring attitude to others will stay with us. R.I.P.
Our sincere condolences to Lynne, and to Nicole and Claire, in their loss.

I read with sadness of Paul's passing. Our career paths crossed when he was with government or here in Saint John in private practice. Each time we met, I came away appreciating that I had been in the presence of a person of high character, a sharp legal mind tempered with humour and joviality. I always looked forward to our encounters for I knew I would be speaking with a man whose reputation was sterling.
Sincere sympathy to his family

I'm so sorry to learn of Paul's passing. I was a playmate of Paul's younger brother, Jimmy. I fondly remember "life & times" on Tennis Court Road, in Rothesay. My sympathy to Jimmy & all the Blanchet siblings.

Paul was one of those people who brighten your life by his very presence. I knew him right from his law student days, and I was mightily impressed from the very outset. He was engaged in whatever he did, bringing both mature, considered judgment and great humour.
My heartfelt condolences to all his family.

I was Paul's only female classmate, and remember him well as ever cheerful, ever courteous, and ever positive. I was greatly impressed by his career switch; was tempted in that direction myself, but instead became the prinicipal author of science textbooks for high schools in Newfoundland, Quebec (English language schools only), ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. Apparently, graduating in Civil Engineering does not condemn a person to a lifetime of designing bridges. I liked Paul enormously, and feel enormous sympathy for his family members, most especially his wife. Jean Bullard, B Sc CE Class of 1961
