Obituary of Lorry DiGiacinto Maples

Lorry DiGiacinto Maples died on August 14, 2023 at the Shannex-Frederick Hall, in Fredericton, NB. Lorry was born on April 5, 1938, in Fredericton to the late Nicoletta (Pelusi) DiGiacinto and Nicola “Nick” DiGiacinto.

Lorry was educated in Fredericton and shortly after graduating from high school became employed by the Federal Government in Fredericton where she worked for more than 30 years.

Lorry was the second child, following Lucy, and she was followed by Alesandro “Sandy” and Domenico Giovanno “Johnny”.

Lorry is survived by her sister, Lucy, brother, Sandy, and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins across Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Jackie Kenneth Maples, and her brother Johnny.

Lorry was active in many charities involving volunteering and the hospital, overseeing the craft displays at the Fredericton Exhibition and being a supporting member of the St. Dunstan’s Catholic Women’s League.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, August 17, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm followed by a reception in the Msgr. Boyd Family Centre. In lieu of flowers it would be appreciated if a donation could be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Lorry’s memory.
