Obituary of Bonita Mae Mazerolle
The family of Bonita “Bonnie” Mae (Phillips) Mazerolle sadly announce her passing on September 21, 2023, at the age of 78 years. Bonnie was born on December 28, 1944, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Alton B. Phillips and Muriel J. (Arbeau) Phillips.
She worked for the federal government CPP for ten years, and was a valued member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Harvey Branch. Roman Catholic by faith, Bonnie was a faithful member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. A devoted mother and grandmother, her family always came first. She was caring compassionate, and cared for others before herself. She loved tole painting, doing crafts knitting, quilting, sewing and loved to cook.
Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Mazerolle (Jennifer) of Hanwell, NB; grandsons, Matthew and Noah; Chosen granddaughter, Alyssa Anderson (Ryan) of Calgary, AB; sister, Madeline (Phillips) Boies (Paul) of Fredericton, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Leon, Wilfred Mazerolle; son, Christopher, and daughter-in-law, Shari Mazerolle.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home. An Eastern Star Tribute will be held privately. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 6-8pm, at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 2pm, at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Hanwell Road in Fredericton. Interment will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Cork. NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Fredericton SPCA.
