Obituary of Leonard Joseph Robichaud

Peacefully, at Hospice House in Fredericton, Leonard Joseph Robichaud passed away at the age of 94. He was the widower of Louise (Roy) Robichaud who passed away in 2020. Born in Coal Creek, NB, formerly of Minto, NB, Leonard was the son of the late Alyre and Jane (McGraw) Robichaud.

Leonard is survived by his son Ivan (Sharon) of Fredericton, NB, son Eric (Jane) of Saint Andre, NB, and daughter Jeannette (Clayton) of Baillie, NB; daughter-in-law Jane Robichaud (late David) of Dartmouth, NS, and siblings Ernest, William “Willie”, Jerry and Irene. Also left to grieve are grandchildren Trent (Tanya) of Fredericton, Danielle (Andrew) of Dartmouth, NS, Shane (Krista) Fredericton, Michael (Emily) of Calgary, AB, Patrick (Christy) of Dartmouth, NS, Dwayne (Jennifer) of USA, and Allison Matthews of USA; great grandchildren Jack, Carter, Beckett, Adelaide, Louie, Elouise, Bryson, Harper and Owen. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leonard was predeceased by his wife, Louise; a son, David; infant daughter, Rita; sister, Theresa; and infant brother, Henry.

Leonard worked for many years for NB Power and was proud to be a volunteer firefighter in Minto. Dad was very proud of his airplane and had a true love of flying. Attention to detail was his forte and passion when it came to vehicles. His general knowledge was truly amazing. He also loved Country music and loved a good dance with his beloved Louise at the many dances at the Seniors Hall. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of deep joy for Leonard.

A sincere thank you to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers for taking such good care of Dad, especially the management and staff of Paradise Villa, Fredericton. Our deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice House for the compassionate and loving care given to Leonard in his final days.

As per Leonard’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11 am, with Fr. Bill Brennan as celebrant. A live stream of the service will be available at the following link:https://vimeo.com/event/3758191.
