Obituary of Leslie William Harrison

Harrison, Leslie William

Our beloved Les passed away October 4, 2023. Born on August 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Bob and Betty (Potter) Harrison of Fredericton; brother of Bobbie Emerson (Peter) of Rothesay, and Bruce Harrison (Laura) of Derby; uncle and great uncle to: Cheli Richard (Maurice) of Fredericton and their children Colin and Logan, Adam Pond (Jodi) of Riverglade and their children Madison and MacKenzie, Noah Pond (Trudy) of Waasis and their children Alison and Nick, Tobi McNamee (Mike) of Saint John and their children Sam and Grace Roach, Mitchell Emerson (Tracey) of Rothesay and their daughter Alex, Kyle Harrison (Tanisha) of Lake George, Stacy James (Dave Cook) of Fredericton and Ezra.

In addition to mom and dad, Les was predeceased by sister, Cheryl Chapman (Curtis), and long-time companion, Kaye Foreman.

In his early years, Les’ adventurous spirit took him to many places, from the Yukon, to Mexico, and all over Europe. After working a variety of jobs in Fredericton, Les and Dad became partners in Harrison’s Video Business. But his real passion was exploring junk yards (long before this was popular and fashionable). He spent many happy hours (with Colin) bringing home treasures they had salvaged – he saw the beauty and potential in other people’s discards.

After losing his home to a fire 4 years ago, he moved into Barrie’s Special Care Home where he was lovingly cared for by the staff: Nicki, Christie, Dnu, Jaz, Marina, Matt, April, and Sharina.

A very special thanks for the compassionate care he received from Dr. Sara Davidson, Dr. Monica Scholten, and Dr. Benaya.

Visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 am. A memorial Service will follow at 11:00, with interment following the service in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. Donations to the Downtown Homeless Shelters or to a charity of your choosing in Les’ memory made as a thank you to his doctors would be appreciated.
