Obituary of Brenda Ann Rioux

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Ann (O’Neil) Rioux on November 5^th, 2023, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on October 7^th, 1953, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Whitfield and Janet (Linder) O’Neil.

Family meant the world to Brenda. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her primary calling was being a homemaker, and caring for the family, but Brenda also managed to find time to work in retail, child care, and become an Avon Representative.

Brenda is survived by her beloved spouse, Gary James Rioux of Fredericton, NB; son, James Allen Rioux (Kimberly Dawn Brewer) of Halifax, NS; grandchild, Katherine Marion Rioux of Halifax, NS; sister, Janice “Cathy” O’Neil (Michael Romano) of Calgary, AB; brother, Elton O’Neil of Richmond, BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her sisters, Lorna James (William), and Linda Marsh (Boniface).

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 20^th, 2023, at 2pm with Rev. David Rioux officiating. Memorial donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
