Obituary of Mary Louise Depow
We announce the peaceful passing of our Matriarch, Mary Louise (Price) Depow, on November 9th, 2023. Mary was born in Woodstock, NB, and grew up in Canterbury, NB, where she married and raised her family before moving to Islandview, NB.
Mary is survived by her 8 children, Anne Dutcher (Bob), Nancy Depow-Mitchell, Andy, Al (Mary), Susan Conners, Gail Depow (Gordon King), Peter (Karen), Paul (Terry Lee); Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Cox Price; several loved nieces and nephews and her fur baby, Jersey.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Gladys (Colpitts) and Henry Price; her beloved husband of 62 years, Harry A. Depow; brother, Robert Price (Constance); sons-in-law, Jerry Shaver and David Mitchell; grandsons, Ray Mitchell and Bentley Kellar; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ned (Marie), Wilfred (Corrine), Mary St. Pierre (Gerald), Bill (Helen).
Mary was everyone’s “Mama”, she was born to nurture. She shared her quiet love with us all. Our hope was to celebrate her 100th birthday on January 29th, 2024, but we cherish the time and celebrate her 99 years.
Thank you to the staff at the Shannex (Neill Hall) nursing home for their loving care and kindness they showed our “Mama” for the past 3 years.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Monday, November 13, from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will be held from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 at 11 am. Rev. Dr. Hebb will officiate. Interment will take place at 2:30 pm in Canterbury Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
