Obituary of Neil James Urquhart

With deep sadness, the family of Neil James Urquhart regretfully announce his passing on November 16, 2023.

Neil was born in Barachois, Quebec in 1932, to William and Christina Urquhart.  He was the youngest of their 10 children.  He is predeceased by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters; Unice, Leonard, Edna, Edith, Joe, Orley, Harris, Winnie, and Norbert, and his wife Yolande. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Sylvya, and his grandchildren, Logan and Leah.

As a young man he worked in an envelope factory and car dealership in Montreal. Then began a long career as an inventor and producer of machinery for several agricultural products. This brought him to Fredericton in 1971. After retirement, he went on to dig a few lakes and build subdivisions in Noonan.

He could fix or build anything. From an early age he started building things and always had a project on the go. He built boats, camps, several campers, a houseboat, his house and other houses, etc. If he wanted or needed something, he built it.

Neil will be remembered as a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who wanted something done.

A small funeral will be held at McAdams Funeral Home on November 17, 2023 at 4:00pm. Interment will take place at a later date. In his remembrance please do an act of kindness for a neighbour or someone in need.
