Obituary of Clayton Everett Carr
It is with great sadness that the family of Clayton Everett Carr announces his sudden passing at the age of 86, on November 22, 2023. Born in Geary, NB. He was the son of the Late Baden and Helen (Piercy) Carr and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In 1957, Dad married our mom, Irene (Lindsay) of Oromocto. They were together for 49 years until her passing in 2007.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sister Carol (Frank) Murphy.
Dad worked for the Town of Oromocto Works dept. for 43.5 years until his retirement at age 65. He was a heavy equipment operator, mechanic and welder. He enjoyed his time working for the town and saw many changes over the years as the area grew from a small village to Canada’s model town.
In younger days, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and taught us to experience and enjoy the great outdoors. In retirement he took great pride in keeping a beautiful property and won the town beautification award on occasion.
Dad is survived by his sons, Darwin (Pam) of Truro, NS. Timothy James of Calgary, AB. Trevor of Burton, NB. and daughter, Krista Cameron of Fredericton, NB. Also, grandchildren Caitlin, Elizabeth, Makalya, Mathew and great grandchild, Lily.
As per Clayton’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at his request. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Donations in Clayton’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Oromocto and area SPCA.
