Obituary of David George Black

It is with broken hearts the family of David Black announces his passing on December 4, 2020 at the age of 68 following a brave battle with cancer. David passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. David was predeceased by his parents, George and Hattie Black. He will be forever remembered by his children, Erin and Andrew and his beloved Granddaughter Ava. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephen (Jane), Richard, Philip (Sharon), Linda (Richard), and Paul (Nya), along with a large circle of nieces and nephews and by the mother of his children, Nicole. David graduated from UNB in 1975 with a degree in Forestry and spent his career as a Forester working with the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources. David was happiest walking through the woods looking at his trees. David will be remembered for his devotion to his family, especially his Ava, his willingness to always lend a helping hand, and his dry sense of humour. David enjoyed hunting and his annual trips to Craven’s Gulch. At this time, there will be no service and a Celebration of Life will be held when permitted. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Oncology unit, Palliative care team, as well as the wonderful staff at Extra Mural who gave our Dad excellent and compassionate care. For those who wish, donations in David’s memory can be made to the Upper Kingsclear Kilburn Community Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
