Lori was a genuine Angel that walked amongst us. A true one of a kind spirit that touched all who knew her. She was a kind and gentle soul that was always giving. A real lady. Her whole world was focused on Mark, Aidan, Jack and their 2 dogs. Her enthusiasm, love and dedication to her family was unwavering, even during times when her own health was being taxed. We all loved her without question. It was a privilege to know her.

I was very sorry to hear of Lori's passing. We had lots of good times through the FHS years and beyond, along with our gang of friends. Lori had a great heart and sense of humour; she was always so very kind to everyone and brightened things up wherever she found herself. We kept in touch over the years and I was fortunate to cross paths with Lori back in Fredericton when our boys played hockey together for a short time. My sincere condolences to Mark, Jack, Aidan, and Tracey.

My sincere condolences to the family of Lori. I grew up on Lincoln Road and remember the Matchetts coming often to visit Donna's parents with their two sweet little girls. I adored the Vaughans and can understand where Lori got her compassion.
Sincerely,

We are saddened by Lori’s death but feel fortunate to have enjoyed her “ growing up” years. She and Janice were like “ sister friends” from Grade 3 at Priestman St. school through to Adulthood. Early on they spent many Wed.afternoons together at our home or the Matchett’s .Their group expanded through High School and often they were at the pool or sleepovers at the Marchett’s home where all were welcomed.
Lori was such a sweet, confident, young girl who was a joy to have around. Her personality was an asset to her as she went on to become a nurse
She was blessed with her wonderful family and friends.
We will cherish our sweet memories. ❤️

There's this odd bond that presents itself in times like this for those of us from the class of '87. It feels like yesterday we were wondering the halls of FHS, making the most of lunch hours, talent shows, and certainly making the most of our leisure time and shenanigans. We thought we were the bomb.com and had the world by the tail. It just all comes back into focus after all these years. People like Lori you can clearly remember because they were kind, and someone you liked being around just from the energy they had. From reunions to the odd hello in the street, you feel it was yesterday when we all went our separate ways to begin life after high school... Lori, you will be missed.
Sincere condolences, Mary-Ellen Landry (nee Myshrall)

Dear Mark, Jack. Aidan and Tracey:
I was very sad to hear the news of Lori’s passing. I’ve known Lori since we were young girls: my grandparents lived in Bessborough Street and my Dad played old-timers hockey with Les for years. I have many fond memories of spending summer days at the Matchett’s pool, with Donna and Les, Tracey and Lori. I know Lori was so proud of her wonderful sons. She will be surely missed by her family and many friends. My condolences to all who knew her. She was special to everyone.

Gone too soon. I wasn't close friends with Lori but we would always chat as teens in the FHS hallways. She was quick to smile, ask how you've been. Great memories.

We were lucky enough to meet the Matchetts when we moved to Bessborough Street in 2007. Lori and Mark were living in Texas at the time but had come home to visit Les and Donna. Thankfully Mark and Lori moved back to the street within a couple of years bringing the twins to become buddies with our children. They quickly became our friends to hang with as we watched our children playing in the pool, wrestling in our basements or riding bikes out on the street. Lori always loved to get together for a drink and enjoy good chats and a little gossip. Lori’s cancer was a devastating diagnosis but she was so determined and positive that she could fight it. She LIVED with her cancer and kept right on going. Mark was so strong standing by her and fighting the fight along side. I am in awe of their strength and reliance through it all. Lori you achieved your goal of loving your boys and embedding that love in them forever. Mark, Jack and Aidan, I am truly sorry for your loss.
Rest in peace sweet Lori

Dear Mark, Aiden, Jack and Tracey,
My deepest condolences on the passing of Lori. She was a one in a million gal and I can even remember how exciting the news was the day she was born. I was walking home from Connaught Street Elementary School and I ran into my cousin Susan who was also walking home (we both lived in the neighborhood and walked to and from school). She said, "Did you here the big family news today? We have a new baby girl cousin - Donna had her baby! " At 8 years old I was so lucky to have a real baby to play with and then babysit. She was the most beautiful child ever with her dark hair, fair completion and big expressive eyes. She did not disappoint and was so fun to play with whether we were at our grandparents home in Lincoln or on Bessborough Street . Her love and concern for others was demonstrated early on and we knew that she would work in a profession where she would care for people and someday, she would be the best mother on the whole wide world. My Dad, always said "just like Donna" his sister. Lori always carried a special spirit with her and I will carry her spirit with me and think of her smile and laugh and mostly, how much of her heart she gave to others.
