Mario,Grassiela,David, We are so sad for the loss of your beautiful, wife and mother Xenia. Such a beautiful person. Back when Grassiela and David were in elementary school, I had the pleasure of seeing Xenia a couple of times throughout the year. She always had a warm smile and hello. It was also a treat to see her during the summer of the good old days of FPL get-togethers. She always had a beautiful smile and would make a point of saying hello, and ask how I was. Even her voice was so sweet. She made everyone feel accepted with her kind demeanor. During our conversations, her love and pride in her family were evident. Eric and I are thinking of you. Our sincere condolences.

Xenia, it is so sad to hear of your passing, as a colleague on 2 different occasions (first 12 years ago and again 2-3 years back both at NB Power), Xenia made me immediately feel like a team member who had been there all along. We shared chats about my nephew and her son who had common interests and she genuinely wanted to see me find my success. Even on tasks we mutually worked together she tried to guide me when I was unsure. To her family I know you will miss her dearly. Her work family will miss her cheery hellos in the mornings and before we left at the end of the day and her caring for all on the team (as you all know). Good bye my colleague, my fiend, you will be missed.

Dear Morales family, I was so saddened to hear of Xenia's passing. I was her teacher at FHS back in 1994 when she first arrived in Fredericton from El Salvador. She was in a small ESL class that became one of my most memorable experiences as a teacher. Xenia was one of 3 girls from El Salvador, all of whom had escaped the war that was going on at the time. I'm sure it was very frightening to live through that, but also to leave and come to a strange, cold country that spoke a foreign language. Xenia was a petite and beautiful young woman. She was cheerful, hardworking, mature, respectful, and kind. She became proficient in English very quickly. We had great times in that class...picnic at the experimental farm, class dinners, a class party at my house. Xenia was quiet but not shy...just a sweetheart. I ran into her a couple of times over the years, the last being a couple of years ago at Devon School. She was still the beautiful Xenia in every way. It was so nice to see her! My profound sympathy to you all on the loss of such a wonderful human being! Sincerely, Cheryl Robertson

This is a message of thanks-to have known Xenia Luna Morales was a special gift. She had a vision: one of someone with a very good heart, and one who could appreciate what is and who has the gift of community, and the capacity of joy. She was always a joy to know because of her appreciation of her fellow human beings. We shall all miss her greatly for she was a joy to know. - Marilee Reimer
