Donny, my brother-in-law and Uncle to my son Ryan DeMerchant, send love and condolences to all our family for his loss. Donny and his late wife Liz, as did the entire family, always welcomed us on our yearly trips from Ontario. They always arranged wonderful gatherings with as many family members available to share a family BBQ, Thanksgiving or Christmas feast. either at their home, or other family members. They are all such amazing people that make us feel truly blessed .

My condolences to Paul and all his family .I once had the opportunity to bid some pipe work for C + R on there 50 million dollar grading job near Perth Andover . Donnie and I met one evening after supper scope out the work . Up the 50 foot bank he went in front of just like a rabbit . Even though he 20 years my senior , I only caught up with him when he stopped at the brook. You could could never fault him for lack of drive or enthusiasm. Great company to work for as a Sub !

Sincere condolences to all of Donnie's family He and Liz were friends of me and my late wife Sharon for many years.
We shared many experiences during those times. The most memorable, and earliest of the happenings would be when Don and Liz, along others "friends" who attended our wedding tried to crash our honeymoon suite at the Perth-Andover "Hilton". Another would be on a hunting trip with Donnie in the Tobique area of Shingle Gulch.
Golfing with Don. He could hit a golf ball farthest out - of - bounds of anyone I ever played the game with.
Great times to remember.

Paul and families
I am very sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He certainly left his mark on the road building industry.
James Callaghan introduced me ‘as the new owner of Callaghan Contracting’ at the Road Builders summer meeting in Saint Andrews, in 1988. Don DeMerchant was the first one to come over to say hello. He said, if there ever was anything that I needed, just come and get it, but boy oh boy, he was tough competition.
He was a very respected friend.
