I was truly saddened to hear of Ana's death. Our warmest condolences to you, David, and to the whole family at this time. We pray you will know the comfort and strength of the Holy Spirit in these days and months ahead. While Ana's death is sad it also brings out the joy of happy memories of good conversations, of getting a good introduction to greyhounds (we did get one!), and of seeing her fine work with the NB Anglican and in the diocese.
Rest eternal grant unto her, O Lord.
And let light perpetual shine upon her.

I knew Ana through several writing groups. She was a natural and gifted story-teller, both on her feet and on the page. Often, she made us laugh. Just hearing her laugh, made me laugh. And often she would speak of her children and grandchildren, their adventures and misadventures, the brightness and darkness of family life, she was fully present for it all. She was honest, generous, and such a good listener, it was easy to relate to her. Ana, thanks for the many stories and the years of friendship; you will be missed.

Ana was a very fun and entertaining woman who I enjoyed visiting and sharing conversations with! She loved her family including her two precious cats Janie and Missy! I will miss seeing her on her deck and in her comfy chair in the apartment sharing her stories and her time with me while we have a treat! David, you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. God must of needed another angel, this time he got a “lovely singing gal”! Rest in peace Ana.

Ana and I have been Best Friends since we first met in high school 60 years ago. And through all these years we’ve remained Best Friends, sharing our mutual love of horses, dogs, literature and politics! We’ve stood with each other and for each other thru thick and thin, ups and downs and all those things life throws at you.
To David and all the Watts and Dearborn families, heartfelt gratitude for letting me share your most wonderful Ana.
Ana, rest now and know, always and forever, you hold in your hands a great chunk of my heart.

On behalf of the members of the Canadian Freelance Guild (and the successor to the Professional Writers Association of Canada), our deepest condolences to David and the family for such a great loss.
Ana was a well-known and committed member of Canada's indepenedent writing community, opening her home and her heart to one and all.
She was always willing to lend a hand, whether that meant leading a discussion, reviewing a draft, or just helping another ink-stained wretch over a rough spot.
Ana, you will be missed, and you will be remembered, as a colleague to all and a friend to many.

I’m so sorry to hear of Ana’s passing.
She was such an amazing writer and editor. I was often astonished by her talent and ability to turn a phrase and make it memorable.
She was always so generous with her time and talent, willing to help other writers, including passing work their way, for which I was a grateful beneficiary.
She had the most amazing laugh and could tell a good yarn like nobody’s business. Sending my deepest condolences to David and her family. Love, Colleen.

Our family moved to Hampton in the late 1960s and we were immediately adopted by the Dearborns. Their wonderful large and rambling farmhouse became our second home, and Ana my sister. Annoying big sister, in fact. That's because of the time we were mad at her for ratting us out for smoking in the hayloft. "How could she?," we wondered. How could she not, I would wonder today.
Despite that little setback (and yes, we got a huge scolding from Dorothy), we went on to share more than five decades of friendship and family ties. I'm so appreciative of the time we were able to spend over the past couple of years at Barbie's home in Halifax.
By the way, the names of the guilty in the hayloft incident are being withheld for privacy reasons, including yours Cindy.

David and family,
Sincere and heartfelt condolences to you all on Ana’s death. I worked in the Cathedral office for a number of years and while there, had frequent contacts with Ana. She was a delight, had a wonderful sense of humour and more times than not, our chats would end with each of us trading our latest dog story, often accompanied with gales of laughter over some silly canine anecdote. She was a talented writer and served the parish well. May our Lord provide each of you with His deep comfort and solace as you mourn her loss … and may Ana be resting in perfect peace.

So sorry to hear of Ana’s passing. I had known Ana for a quarter of a century. We might go a few years without seeing each other, but when we got together we picked up where we left off. I felt so comfortable around Ana and I will never forget her laugh. From time to time she would write about me in the NB Anglican. She would call and say, Here is what you said... That OK? It always was. She knew me well enough to know exactly what I would say. Love you and will miss you Ana. Deepest sympathy David and family.
