Obituary of Shirley Irene Grealey

Shirley Irene Grealey (née Stephenson) passed away peacefully on August 27^th, 2024, leaving a life filled with varied interests and adventures. Born on July 9^th, 1936, she was predeceased by her partner, Donald P. Grealey.

Shirley is survived by her two sons, Scott (Heather) of Courtenay, BC, and Mark (Tanya) of Lincoln, NB; grandchildren, Zack (Brooklynn), Kendra (Mak), Kaia, and Darcy; great-grandchildren, Wrennyn, Ridge and Coven, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Shirley's life journey took her to various places, including Halifax and Pictou County, Nova Scotia, and Lincoln and Heartland, New Brunswick. She was known for her athletic prowess, participating in sports such as softball, hockey, and tennis. She also found joy in singing in the church choir.

Shirley was a woman of unique style. She was often seen in her beloved Harley Davidson t-shirts, temporary tattoos, and rocking to Elvis Presley.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hawthorne Place Care Home for the 18 years of care and companionship Shirley received.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Association for Mental Health or the Cancer Society.
