Dear Gloria, Donna, Bettie, Graeme, Adam and all the family,
You have lost a dear and special one and the only comfort is trying to believe he is with those he so loved and lost before his passing. Your friendship has been a godsend on many levels over the years. Gloria, your and John's wisdom in a variety of situations was/is a great blessing. We feel sad that you now have to carry on for the both of you, Gloria, but the love and commitment you had for each other will hopefully strengthen and inspire you. We can keep him with us in our good memories and the laughs and great memories of times well spent at the lake and on drive-by's! He deserves to be celebrated in all that he accomplished despite the challenges, and he chose well, in deciding on his life partner. Much love and support being sent your way.

John's sudden passing shocked Lucinda and me, and we send our sincere condolences. I thought the world of John. He was a great Cousin, and although living in another country kept our visits few, I always looked forward to my trips back home and the opportunity to see him. I feel so fortunate to have been able to have dinner with you and John this past July. It's a memory I will hold forever.

Dear Gloria & family... my sincerest condolences to you and your family. It was a real privilege to know John, his engaging wit and humor, and to have crossed paths with him in life. Please know you are being held in many prayers at this time. May the presence of family and friends bring you much comfort and healing as you gather to both grieve his passing, and yet celebrate his wonderful memory and the impact he made on so many who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gloria and family;
Our deepest condolences on the passing of Johnny. I worked with Johnny at DNR for over 20 years. We became quick friends, and whenever we saw one another would share a few stories and of course he always had a joke. Johnny's wit and sarcasm were legendary, and his sense of humour incredible. Some days Johnny made me laugh so hard I would have tears streaming down my face. You would never know that Johnny lived with the struggles and pain he did - he seldom complained and would always put on a brave face and resort to making you laugh instead of focusing on himself. Typically, he made himself the brunt of a good joke and was a genius at skipping any awkwardness about his stature. Johnny may have been under 4 feet vertically, but his personality, wit and humour stood him 9 feet tall in my books. I for one consider my life and time in the civil service far more rich and enjoyable having Johnny Young there to share it with. So glad to have known you and to be considered a friend Johnny. God rest your soul brother.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to all the Youngs - friends and neighbours when we were all children on Edinburgh St. It was such an amazing event when all of us got together to celebrate the "Connaught St. Elementary School Reunion" in Fredericton in 2017 and it gave me a chance to reconnect with John and get to know Gloria.
John was an amazing guy with enormous guts and a big heart. His obituary reflects a deep sensitivity. I didn't know him well as an adult (except for the famous reunion) but I will treasure our childhood memories and the fun we shared in 2017.
Gloria - I am so sorry for your loss.
Fondly,
Pam Fitch
