My deepest condolences to the family of Dr Price. A true gentleman who I had the privilege of getting to know over many a scotch, and it was always a pleasure spending time with he and Ann and sharing stories of 'Norn Iron'. He always reminded me of my late father, both good Belfast men of the same era and always good for a bit of craic. He is a loss to the whisky society and shall be missed. Many kind regards, Oli Surgenor.

I was mentored by John Price in 1977 when I did an anaesthetic overseas attachment as a Queens University Belfast student. It was the most wonderful summer meeting Pat Thompson, John and the other 2 anaesthesiologist’s with whom I learnt a great deal. Thank you John et al for my most memorable summer attachment. Xx
Condolences to the family

I worked with John as a member of medical staff but then more intimately as a hospice member. He was committed to hospice and understood the value of excellent palliative care especially at end of life. My condolences to John’s family and may they be comforted by the many fine memories of a life well lived as both a physician and a father.

It was a pleasure and honour to work with John Price. He truly was larger than life. Brilliant, funny, talented, efficient, amazing team builder and team member, I could go on. He was an inspiration and role model for so many of us.
Thankfully I was able to see John recently at an Anesthesia Retirement party and he was his usual kind, polite, humble, honourable self.
Enjoy your well deserved rest, sir.

My sympathies to the Price family. You and the community have lost a great man. I had the pleasure of working with John for many years. He was a powerful force in maintaining a strong cohesive Department of Anesrthesiology, was committed to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. He was respected by all who worked with him, and will remain a legend as long as there is someone left to tell the stories.

What a treasure it was to golf with both John and Ann for many years at Fredericton Golf Club. Their joyful spirit was present good or bad shot. I also shared many hours assisting as a volunteer rules official with John at NB Provincial Golf tournaments. John was a fair yet judicious stickler for players to follow rules of "the grand old game". It was a cherished blessing to have known both.

I first met John Price in 1967 as an intern at the Victoria Public Hospital and it was obvious that he was a force to be reckoned with! As the years passed John contributed more and more to hospital life and in the "new" hospital DECH he was chief of Anesthesia and eventually Chief of Medical Staff. He was greatly respected by all, surgical, medical, and nursing staff.
With retirement came new challenges including development of Hospice.
I am proud to have called John a friend and a colleague.

It was an honour to know John for the last 20 years of his life. His dedication as a family man and a physician was obvious. His Irish lilt and twinkling eye was never far from the surface. A decent, honourable, community minded, kind gentleman. My condolences to his family.
