Nancy and Family,
We are sorry to hear about Jack’s passing. He was a man with a huge personality and a penchant for life. Here is how we best describe Jack.
Jack the Mentor - We remember Jack taking the time to sit with Lexi to discuss government and politics, passing on his knowledge to future generations.
Jack the Student - Mike remembers Jack hitting 250 golf balls in one driving range session just because there was ball tracking data to be seen. Of course, Jack could not move for two days after.
Jack the Host - We remember sitting on the balcony at Maisons sur Mer for an easy get together. Additionally, our trip to Fredericton was something we will never forget.
Jack the Friend - Mike lost track of the number of times Jack swung by the Arcadian Shores clubhouse. On the lousiest of weather days, Jack would walk in. “Hey, Mikey!” was the greeting and Mike knew Jack was in the house.
Jack will be missed.
With Love, Mike and Rhys Lutsky

I worked with Jack at the Opposition office for a few months and it was a wonderful experience. Always extremely complimentary and supportive to all the staff, we all hated to see him move on to retirement. Dave and I also went on a cruise with him and Nancy one winter. It was another occasion where Jack had trouble walking by a piano without sitting down and going for it. Of course attending dances with Blue Suede playing was always wonderful. Jack was a man of many talents and I am sure he will be missed. Our thoughts go out to Nancy and the family. Dave and Louella Woods.

Nancy, Peter, and family.
I met jack at Kingswood. He was outside club storage, chatting with everybody nearby; holding court as it would turn out. His energy and enthusiasm for golf (and any topic on which we spoke) was infectious. His love and reverence for family and friends was obvious. I will remember Jack in this full form. I hope that as your grief eases, that memories such as these will bring you comfort and fond recall.
Sincerely;
Ed Hawkes

Nancy...just wanted to share a note I sent to our Friends Ron and Sandra Steeves:
Hi Guys....I was just sitting here having thoughts about Jack. Ron, you made me aquainted with Jack at Kingswood and we played together very often. He tolerated my less than competent game and always made me feel comfortable despite my anxiety playing with someone so proficient....yes, he had his moments with other groups that may have been slow or unaware of those behind them, but when it came down to it, what was important was the off the cuff comment or story that would come at some point during the round that would bring you to your knees in laughter.
Your introduction allowed Pam and I to enjoy visits with Nancy and Jack at their homes here in Freddy and in Myrtle Beach....visits filled with laughter and private concerts that left both of us in awe.
My life is enhanced by being able to repeat some of his great stories (Dweeble/nascar) and Pam will always be thankful that Jack took time to play some blues for her and make her visits perfect.
We will both miss him and remember the really special things about a very talented individual....hope to see you Tuesday at the celebration. Pat and Pam

I was saddened to read of Jack's passing. From all accounts, he was very much involved in the planning of tomorrow's celebration of life. It definitely is not like him to miss a good party, and there is plenty to celebrate in Jack's life. My own best memories of Jack are from my days in the Official Opposition, where he came to help during pretty desolate times after a tough political defeat in 1999. Needless to say, he brought cheer and plenty of laughs along with sound counsel and strategic thinking. Clearly he was a "bon vivant" who will be sorely missed, but it is how he treasured his family that stands out above all the rest. May his memory be a blessing every single day.

Nancy and family:
I was so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. I will always remember that day when our curling team was trying to get to Halifax for the Canadian Curling Championships during a horrific snowstorm. Jack saved our day, when he arranged to rent us a car so we could drive to Moncton, and then we could take the train for the remainder of the distance.
I also remember our visit in Myrtle Beach, and the visit to Finns where he had a dollar on the wall.
You certainly have many great memories. Enjoy them all.

Dear Nancy , Karen, Peter and Kim. Please accept my sincere condoleances .He leaves with many of us so many great and happy memories of his professional, musical and golf life. Jack was truly a special person, so proud of his young family and I recall of him sharing his pride of Nancy returning to University to get her nursing degree. Jack is up there surely with a twinkle in his eye. Rest in peace Jack.
Sincerely,
Claire Lepage

Jack WAS unique! He was the only deputy that I dealt with who preferred to receive legal advice downstairs, in the pub, rather than in his office! When he went to the Premier's office, he told me that it was like working at the end of a sewage line. He said that he had to deal with everything the system couldn't digest. I recall our post retirement times at Kingswood as well, from his joy at recovering the sight in one eye, to his insistence on a weighted putter. He used both to good effect. A life well lived!
