Obituary of Lawrence Robert Cochrane
Lawrence Robert Cochrane of Maugerville NB, passed away on November 24, 2024 at the young age of 82.
Lawrence was born on November 1st, 1942 to Charles and Mabel (Ladds) Cochrane. He was born right in his own home, where he lived all of his life.
In 1967, he met his one true love Joyce, and married in 1969. Joyce was 18 when they married, and Lawrence was 27. They went on to have 2 children, daughter, Stacey, and son, Adam. From there, their family grew. Stacey married Nigel Carr giving them 2 grandchildren Emma and Robert. Adam gave his parents 4 grandchildren, Abby, Jenna, Seth and Kendra. Lawrence had a love for his children and grandchildren like no-one else.
Lawrence worked at McCoy’s Trucking for a number of years as a loader operator. He went on to work in the woods with his brother Lloyd for many years until his last job, at Moxon’s Country Pumpkin where he retired after working 16 years. He was 65 at the time of retirements.
His work never ended there. He always stayed busy in his own fields out on his tractor or wheeler fixing roads, plowing ground, or getting ground ready to plant various vegetables needed for pickles and jams which were in high demand in their bakery.

He will also be leaving behind many nieces and nephews and extended family, that he loved.
Lawrence will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. He had a nickname for everyone, and a sparkle in his eye.
He had a love of hunting and sitting down to have a say when family and friends came to visit. “sit on down kid, tell me what you know” was a well heard expression.
A celebration of life will be held at the Maugerville Community Center on Saturday, November 30, 2024 beginning at 1:00 pm. A burial at Maugerville Baptist Cemetery will be later in the spring.
