Obituary of William "Bill" Garth Nason
It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of William “Bill” Garth Nason at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, November 30th, 2024. Bill was born in Fredericton, NB, on August 5th, 1942 to the late Joseph and Greta (Horncastle) Nason.
Bill was born and brought up in Fredericton. After his graduation he moved from Fredericton to Montreal where his high school sweetheart was training at the Montreal General Hospital and where he had accepted a teaching position at a nearby school. Later, he and his sweetheart, Garnella, married and moved to Toronto, and then to Burlington, where he worked for many years as a pharmaceutical rep. In later years, Bill became a Real Estate Broker in the Burlington area. During his retirement he and Garnella returned to Fredericton where Bill also did some substitute teaching at Leo Hayes High School.
Bill leaves behind his two sons, Brent of London, ON, and Robyn (Nancy) of Phoenix, AZ, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bill also leaves behind “his Donna”. Following the death of their beloved spouses it was as if God brought them together to help each again experience happiness and continue on in life.
Bill will always be in our hearts and memories.
Special thank you to the ICU staff for their wonderful care and compassion.
Bill’s family will hold a private service in the spring. For those who wish, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
