My condolences on the passing of Lolita. Like many I had the fortune to have her as a teacher and enjoyed her passion for teaching and her unlimited patience for getting the many concepts of physics into her students brains. She was one of a kind.

As our DRHS Class of 1974 (Dalhousie) gathered for its 50th reunion last summer, our thoughts and memories turned to teachers who made a difference. Ms. Smith was remembered by many for her patience, her dedication, her intelligence and her determination to instill some science into our teenage minds. She was a credit to her profession. Condolences to her family at the loss of this wonderful woman.

Condolences to the family and friends of Lolita/Loie. Though I never was a student of Lolita when I was in high school, later when I became a teacher I had the pleasure of working along side her. Always in good humour and ready to share a story or two (mostly about her mom or her cats) are some of my fondest memories of her. She and Russ MacLean were big Star Trek fans, I would tape the show almost every Friday night for them to watch the next week (as they could not get the show at that time on their channels). She was as excited as a kid to attain that VHS tape. RIP Miss Smith

I was one of many students that Ms. Smith so patiently taught in high school. I remember her as a faithful member of my church and her love of her cats! My condolences to her loved ones on her passing.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of this kind woman. She was my Physics teacher in High School, Dalhousie, NB. She was patient and passionate about her subject and took great pleasure seeing the moment when the “lights came on” and we understood. I wish that I had met her again after graduation, I would have happily shared that her teaching served me well in my career.
