Everyone who knew Karl will remember his warm smile and that mischievous twinkle in his eye. He was a people person. He had a remarkably varied and successful career. Those with memories of the ‘50s and ‘60s will remember his sporting goods business, first on York Street and then at 361 Queen Street. He also had a general repair business, dating from the ‘40s at his George Street home and then at his Queen Street building. A man of great ability, he had a reputation as someone who could and would fix anything. With Karl it was customer first, profit second. A kind and generous man, Karl had great confidence and great optimism. He also had the gift of curiosity.
The family is very grateful for excellent medical care by Dr Srinivasan, Dr Khaleduzzaman, and the many doctors, nurses, and staff of DECH, and excellent nursing home care at Eden’s Retirement Villa and York Care Centre.
A funeral service for invited guests will take place at J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. A recording of the service is available to watch at the following link: https://vimeo.com/519730378 . Interment will be held at the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date.
