Obituary of Mary Donna Hazlett

It is with broken hearts that the family announce the passing of Mary Donna Hazlett on March 16, 2021 at the Doctor Everett Chalmer’s Hospital, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on October 9, 1952, Mary was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Dickieson) LeBritton. Mary spent her lifetime caring for people. When she wasn't being a devoted mother to her girls and a doting grandmother to her beloved grandsons, Mary enriched the lives of many retired veterans through her decades of work at the DVA in Fredericton. Often referred to as a champion for the veterans, her colleagues describe her as a dedicated advocate who walked the talk in all areas of passionate, client care. Mary was instrumental in establishing the annual Stuff the Bus for Veterans at the DVA during her employment there and raised tens of thousands of dollars over the years for school and sports fundraising campaigns, colleagues and neighbours in need, and when called upon donated to several local charities. If there was someone in need in the community, Mary always found a way to assist, as best she could, in her own quiet, unassuming way. As her journey progressed over the past few months, she mentioned several times that she had so many more people she wanted to help. Mary's legacy of loving and giving will carry on through her girls, her grandchildren and the many lives she has touched throughout her beautiful time here on earth. She is flying high as an angel now where she will continue to make this world a better place for all. Mary will be dearly missed by her daughters Misty McLaughlin (Peter) and Tally Wall (Dana); her cherished grandchildren Jordan McLaughlin, Ben McLaughlin, Liam Wall, and Evan Wall; her brothers John LeBritton (Kim ) and George LeBritton Jr. (Connie) as well as her four legged, fur babies, and many friends and extended family. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Harry LeBritton and sister Judith Jensen. A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Due to restricted seating, please contact the funeral home to reserve a place (506) 458-9170. A recording of the service is available at the following link: https://vimeo.com/525117757. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
