Obituary of Cecil Joseph Carrier

It is with great sadness that the family of Cecil Joseph Carrier, of Rusagonis, NB, announces his passing on March 18, 2021, at Hospice House in Fredericton. Born in Lorne, NB, on May 28, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence (Lavigne) Carrier. Cecil enjoyed being outside tending to his garden, and he loved being surrounded by family. Cecil will be remembered for his quick wit, frankness, and the love for his late dog Bowser. Cecil will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Carol; four daughters Joanne Pierce (Robert) of McAdam, NB, Linda Carrier of Fredericton, NB, Ginger Hayes (Mike) of Pembroke, ON, April Carrier (Gary) of Rusagonis, NB; one son Cecil Carrier (Sue) of Fredericton Junction, NB; ten grandchildren Carolyn Landry (Cord) of Fort McMurray, AB, Michael Landry of Fredericton, NB, Ashley Landry (Mike) of Fredericton, NB, Kevin Carrier of Fredericton, NB, Rocky Carrier (Jessica) of Moncton, NB, Michelle Carrier (Josh) of Trenton, ON, Jeramie Fraser (Brittany) of Pembroke, ON, Alycia McGee (Andrew) of Rusagonis, NB, Nicole Carrier (Keenan) of Zealand, NB, Alexander Veno (Terri) of Boiestown, NB; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers Angus Carrier and Wayne Carrier of Fredericton, NB; five sisters Annette Hickey of Thompson, MB, Eulalie Hickey (Adolph) of Lorne, NB, Claudette Beaton (Tony) of Lincoln, NB, Simone Whitlock (Robert) of Fredericton, NB, Gemma Carrier (Rodney) of Fort McMurray, AB; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Cecil is predeceased by siblings Lorenzo Carrier, Alma May and Wendy Carrier. Our family wishes to sincerely thank all the doctors and nurses who took such good care of our Dad and Gramp. Special thanks to Vianne (extra-mural) and caregiver Shianne (Integrity) for the dedication, care, kindness and compassion that was extended. He looked forward to your visits and enjoyed each and every conversation he had with you. Your quick wit and humour always made his day. At the request of the family there will be no funeral service, but a private service will occur at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Hospice House in Fredericton, or the Canadian Lung Association.
