Obituary of Elizabeth Marie Horne
Psalms 46:5 "God is in the midst of her. She shall not be moved. He will help her when morning dawns." That glorious morning arrived for Betty on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 while a resident at Hospice House, Fredericton. She was surrounded by the love of her family and the presence and peace of God. Betty was born in Fredericton, NB on August 11, 1940, the only daughter of the late Wallace J. and Lillian V. (Estey) Manuncia and the devoted wife of the late Clifton T. Horne.
Betty was a great woman of faith and a devoted member of Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse, Hoyt, NB. Betty leaves an amazing legacy that will be remembered lovingly by her family and many friends. She was a woman who sought to see the best in people and had a heart that forgave the worst, a mind that always forgot the bad and a soul that never lost faith in God. Music was dear to Betty’s heart and she loved to sing and at one time made her own recording.
Her children rise up and call her blessed. Betty will forever be loved and remembered by her daughters, Carla L. Worden (Willard) of Hoyt and Sonya M. Regich (Andrew) of North Bay, ON and by sons, Robin C. Horne of Saint John and Scott W. Horne (Jennifer) of Alberta. She was a special and much loved Grammie/Nannie to her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also left behind to cherish her memory are a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Tracy, Katherine Nason and Mary Hudlin; a special friend Donald Whittaker and special sister Lorna Wallace as well as a host of treasured friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her brother, Reginald W. Manuncia and his wife Jean Manuncia and brother Donald Hudlin.
Due to the current Public Advisory with regard to the COVID-19 outbreak there will be no visitation hours or service at this time, however, a Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at a later date in the Tracy cemetery. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice House, Fredericton.
The family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to Drs. Sainz, Paulin and staff at Hospice House for their excellent care and attention so lovingly shown to Betty and her family.
