Obituary of Joseph Lawrence MacEachern

On Thursday, April 9th, 2020 Joseph Lawrence MacEachern of Fredericton NB, beloved husband and father passed away at the age of 79, after a 7 year battle with cancer. Born in Sterling and grew up in Grand Mira South, Cape Breton, NS, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Madeleine (Presseau) MacEachern. He was married to the love of his life, for 49 years, Patricia (Kelly) and lived in Charters Settlement outside of Fredericton NB. They raised two children who he adored, one son Ian (Nicole) and one daughter Jenny (Sherri). He is survived by his sisters Mary (Gordon) MacDougall, Cecelia; brothers Gerry (John), Bernie, Johnie (Jackie); sisters-in-law Pat, Anita and Leslie; his extended family Bob and Sandy Lee, Pat and Suzanne Kelly, Tom Kelly and Michel Boivin, Ann (Kelly) and Laurier Beaulé; as well as his many nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded by brothers René, Arthur and Harold and sisters-in-law Julie and Linda. Larry will be remembered as someone who was always more than happy to lend a helping hand. He was humble and never boastful, also was honest and reliable. He remained sharp right up until the very end, always looking to stay informed—he would certainly be described as an avid consumer of current events. Larry will be sadly missed by those who loved him, including his dog Jack. Cremation has taken place at McAdam's Funeral Home. However due to the current situation with COVID-19, no ceremony will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
