Obituary of Carolyn Dale Morris

It is with sadness that the family of Dale Morris announce her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, May 10, 2021, at the age of 79. Born in Saint John, NB, on December 22, 1941, she was the wife of William "Bill" Morris of Fredericton. In addition to her husband, Bill, Dale leaves behind her sons, Dr. Dean Morris (Dr. Hilary March) of Merrimack, NH, and Bill Morris of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Cameron and Sydney Morris of Merrimack, NH; sister, Diane Clark of Saint John, NB; brother-in-law, David Morris (Claire) of Moncton, NB; nieces, Sandra Patterson, Susan Proulx, Barb Sadler (John), Beth Gaudet (Lorne), and Lisa Morris; nephews, Mike Patterson (Laurie) and Jay Hare (Susanne); special friend, Luke. Dale was predeceased by her parents, Doris (Chamberland) and Donald Richard (killed in action-WWII); sister, Donna Hare; brother-in-law, Fred Hare; nephew-in-law, Jim Morris. After graduating from the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, Dale completed a one year community nursing program at Dalhousie University. She continued her studies at UNB and received her Bachelor of Nursing. Dale approached life with an energetic, kind, and bright outlook. Her fun and creative spirit showed through in all aspects of her life, whether it was helping her grandkids with arts and crafts, painting or decorating. She will be deeply missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Dale had a passion and talent for painting and would attend art classes here at home and around the Maritimes. She proudly exhibited her artwork with the Turps Painting Club. She also enjoyed Bridge, especially with her two table group. They would spend 3 or 4 days in Quebec at the spa enjoying a mini getaway and playing Bridge. Over the years Dale was a member of several groups including the Fredericton Golf Club, Turps Painters, Fiddlehead Bridge Club and Walton County Snowbirds. Dale loved to travel and among her many interests she would attend plays and operas in New York or spend time listening to Pavarotti. She and Bill enjoyed spending winters in Florida and trips to Europe and the Caribbean. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions a service followed interment in Scotchtown Cemetery will be held at a later time. For those who wish, donations in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
