Obituary of Anisa Pezerovic
Anisa Pezerovic, 36, of Palanka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, passed peacefully with family by her side on June 4th, 2021, at York Care Centre in Fredericton, NB. She fought a long battle with Scleroderma after being diagnosed at 19 years of age.
Anisa’s love for her family and friends kept her fighting over the years. She was a true Bosnian patriot, and had an astounding love for animals, specifically for her canine companions, Maggie and Andi. She truly enjoyed shopping and providing for her beloved niece, Zuri. Her witty humour and generous heart will never be forgotten.
Anisa received her diploma in Early Childhood Education and had a passion for working with children as an Educational Assistant.
Anisa is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Hasib and Sadika Pezerovic; maternal grandparents, Emin and Sadifa Salkic; uncles, Halid (Tahira) and Mehmed (Hasima); and aunts, Sofija (Late Idriz) and Ferida (Late Velid) of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Anisa is survived by her parents, Mevlida (Salkic) and Ibrahim Pezerovic; younger brothers, Aldin (Laura) and Hasib (Lindsay); cherished infant niece, Zuri; best friend Mirlinda of Fredericton; uncles Ferid (Late Fatima) and Mevludin; aunts, Ema (Abdulah), Bahrija (Late Safer), and Mirzeta (Novalija) of Bosnia and Herzegovina; as well as her large, loving extended family in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including numerous cousins and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and York Care Centre for the care and support provided to Anisa and family from beginning to end.
Anisa’s family plans to repatriate her to Palanka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family. There will be a brief visitation period for family and friends at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Scleroderma Canada or the Fredericton SPCA.
