Obituary of Ronald Everett McCoy

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ronald Everett McCoy, 85, on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, following a brief illness. On this day, Ronnie heard the calls from heaven’s portal: Come home Ronnie, you have travelled your last weary mile. Rest now, you have fought the good fight. Wait ‘til you see your brand new home. Born in Gray Rapids, he was the son of the late George and Carrie (MacDonald) McCoy. He was a lifelong resident of Nashwaak Village. Ronnie leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years; Marjorie (Dorcas) McCoy; his son, Tony McCoy (Josette), daughters Rhonda, Leanne (David) Allen and Soraya (Fred) Grothe; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his siblings; Myles (Betty), Richard (Debbie), Allan (Nancy), Paul (Sharon), Fred (Brenda), Marina, Aldina and Charlene (Philip). Ronnie is predeceased by his son; Terry, in-laws; Claire and Thelma (Anderson) Dorcas, sister; Marie, his brothers; Ab (Marion) and Leroy. Ronnie was self-employed for many years as the owner/operator of McCoy Trucking. He was a dedicated lifelong member of the Capitol Community Church where he served the lord. He was a past board member, young people’s leader, Sunday school teacher and bus driver. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Ronnie and Marjorie led an active life, travelling and camping. He will be forever remembered by his contagious smile, his love for his family and serving the lord. Ronnie, your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our needs. A great void has been left in our lives which will never be filled. We will always miss, love and cherish you. Forever in our hearts. A Celebration of Ronnie’s life will take place at the Capital Community Church - 71 Downing Street, Fredericton, NB - with a visitation open to the public from 2 - 5 pm on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. A service celebrating the life of Ronald McCoy will be held at the church on Thursday, June 17, at 2:00 pm.
