Obituary of Eva Richard

It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Florence (McGinn) Richard announce her passing on June 13, 2021, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on April 26, 1935, in Fredericton, NB, Eva was the daughter of the late Clement and Stella (Toner) McGinn. She was predeceased by her loving and caring husband, John Richard in 2011. Eva is survived by, and will be dearly missed by her 4 children, Christine Walsh, Pam McDonald (Ken Harris), Terry Fullarton (Lynn) and Brian Fullarton (Ruth Thurlow); her grandchildren, Jodi Murdock (Marcus), Stephen McDonald (Crystal), Justin Fullarton (Natasha) and late Shyanna Smith; great grandchildren, Emma (Josh), Alex, Tye, Zackery, Mackenzie and Holden; as well as her siblings, Leroy McGinn (Francis), Donald McGinn (Erma) and Doug McGinn (Tina). In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brother Brian and sister Wendy. Eva graduated from Nursing in 1956 and finished out her career at Oromocto Hospital in 1996. She was an active member at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, from greeting you at the door on Saturday Mass, to serving on several Committees. She was always on the go, playing bridge, visiting and helping friends and family, and took up painting later in life. During the stressful COVID times she enjoyed lovely meals prepared by her condo friends. May the memory of her friendship be a blessing to all her countless friends, Barb Forbes, Tina McDonald, Judy Bird, Betty Byers, Barbara Rowen, Loretta Washburn, just to name a few. The family would like to thank the staff of 3 East and Palliative Care at the DECH for their excellent and compassionate care. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions and concerns, there will be no visitation. Family and friends will gather at a graveside service at the Hermitage Cemetery at 10 am, July 9th followed by a Celebration of Life Reception at the Fredericton Inn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Society, ALS or SPCA.
