Obituary of Janet Annabel Hartlen

Janet Annabel Hartlen (nee Sutherland), passed away Monday July 5, 2021, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 81. Born in Hartland, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Mary Elizabeth Ronayane. She is survived by her ex-husband Ron; two daughters, Jodi Hartlen and Beth (Hartlen) Babineau; her son, Robb Hartlen; one brother Terry Ronayane of Riley Brook, NB, and his daughter Megan Ronayane; also rounding out this motley crew that will be missing their Nanny are Logan, Kaleb, Morgan, Emma, Nicki, Christian, Lucas and Reid. It’s widely known that the Greeks didn't write obituaries. They only asked one question after a person died: "Did they have passion?". Jan lived her life with a degree of passion that the world would do well to emulate. She loved her kids, adored her grandchildren, cherished her years nursing, revered her friends and favored the times when all the above were in the same room causing noise, laughing, joking and above all, just being together. Thanks to the good people at Modern Celebrations and Cremations, and especially to the nurses and doctors on the Palliative Care Unit at the DECH, although mom’s time with you was brief, the compassion you showed her both in life and death was a testament to how amazing our nurses and health care workers are. A celebration of life will happen later in July and all are welcome to attend. In her memory, donations to Hospice House Fredericton or the DECH – Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
