Obituary of Gary A. Bigger
In loving memory of Rev. Gary A. Bigger. My beloved, I have gathered my holy angels around your bedside to usher you into my presence. Gary completed his earthly journey and triumphant transition with dignity and grace on Friday, July 16, 2021. Born in McAdam, NB on August 12, 1942, he was a son of the late Robert and Jean (Sharpe) Bigger.
He was a beloved and well respected pastor for many years. His ministry began in 1983 and in 2007, following his retirement, he began his ministry as a supply Pastor which took him and his wife to many locations throughout the province and beyond. Both Gary and his wife Viola endeared themselves to many over the years of faithful service to the Lord. Gary put his whole heart into his ministry with the sole purpose of winning souls into the Kingdom of God. During his stay at home and dealing with his declining health, he always had an encouraging word for anyone who came for a visit. He will be lovingly remembered for his happy heart and joyful laughter and was well known for his great sense of humor.
Gary leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Viola (Vi) (Mowatt) Bigger; three children who he loved dearly, Cheryl (Robert) Noye, Gary (Valery) Bigger and Jody (Michelle) Bigger. His heart always smiled big whenever his grandchildren, Caitlind (Chris), Nathan (Michayla), Justin, Drew, Will, Leia and great-grandchildren, Charleigh and Camrynn came for a visit. Gary will be greatly missed by his sister Shirley Stafford and his brother Vaughn (Roma) Bigger. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a host of treasured friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert and Jean, he was predeceased by brothers, James (Leona), Erysl (Marie), Elwin (Marlene), Gerald, Merle (Avis), Keith (Freda) and sisters Kathleen (Frank), Phyllis Christine and twins, Water Arlo and Eunice.
The family wish to sincerely thank the Oromocto Extra Mural Nurses and Hospice House nurses and staff, Fredericton, for their compassion, kindness and love while Gary was in their care. We will be forever grateful.
There will be a time of visitation and an opportunity to express condolences to the family on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St., Fredericton.
