Obituary of Phyllis Geraldine Strang
It is with sadness that the family of Phyllis Strang announces her death at Thomas Hall in Fredericton on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the age of 95. Born in Fredericton, NB, on May 30, 1926, she was the wife of the late Allen Strang.
Phyllis leaves behind her children, Sharon Pond of Nasonworth, NB, and Fred Strang (Marlene) of Lake George, NB; grandchildren, Melissa (Marc), Kristen, Michael and Alison (Sean); great grandchildren, Isabelle, Abigail, Jordan, Jarreth, Layla, Wyatt, Masyn and Arabella; sister-in-law, Betty Crowley; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Allen, Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Lillian (Billings) Crowley; brothers, Arthur and Richard Crowley; sisters, Alice Jones and Marion Rowan; son-in-law, Terry Pond.
Phyllis’ family meant everything to her and she will be remembered by them as a loving mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and supported them in all they did. She loved music and was happiest at family get-togethers with singing at the piano.
Phyllis lived in Fredericton most of her life and often told stories about happy summers at Lake George with siblings and children. She also enjoyed travel and spent two months in Florida during the winter for many years.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held from St. Anne’s Chapel of Ease on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm with The Rev. Canon Wandlyn Snelgrove officiating. For those who wish, donations in Phyllis’ memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
